Job Description:

Reporting to the Manager, Network Services, the Network IT/OT Solution Architect with expertise in LTE is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of advanced network solutions across IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments in Canada. This outstanding role requires a deep understanding of private LTE networks, IT/OT integration, and Canadian industry standards. The ideal candidate will drive the convergence of IT and OT systems, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable networks to facilitate industrial and enterprise operations.

This contract role can be based in Santiago, Chile or in Vancouver, BC in a hybrid working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Design, develop, and manage IT/OT network architectures aligned with Canadian industrial and regulatory requirements
  • Implement and optimize private LTE networks to support industrial IoT, critical OT systems, and real-time communication
  • Integrate LTE with existing IT/OT networks, including Wi-Fi, 5G, and Ethernet, to build hybrid, future-ready solutions
  • Develop and implement strategies for seamless IT/OT integration, enabling real-time data exchange and improved visibility
  • Collaborate with operations teams to modernize OT systems while ensuring compatibility with IT infrastructure
  • Support the deployment of edge computing solutions and cloud-based IIoT platforms
  • Ensure all IT/OT network designs comply with Canadian regulations and industry standards (e.g., NERC CIP, CSA, NIST).
  • Implement advanced cybersecurity measures to safeguard networks against evolving threats
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to protect critical infrastructure
  • Monitor IT and OT networks for efficient performance and reliability, using sophisticated LTE diagnostic tools
  • Solve complex networking issues, ensuring minimal downtime and operational impact
  • Continuously evaluate and improve network performance to meet organizational needs
  • Lead multi-functional teams in designing and deploying IT/OT network solutions tailored to Canadian industries
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and technical teams
  • Collaborate with external partners and vendors to evaluate and implement innovative technologies
  • Develop comprehensive documentation, including network designs, policies, and operational procedures
  • Train teams on IT/OT networking, LTE technologies, and best practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in IT/OT network design, integration, and architecture
  • Spanish-language proficiency is essential
  • CCNP, CISSP or equivalent certifications are preferred
  • Certifications in Canadian industrial standards (e.g., CSA, NERC CIP) are an asset
  • Confirmed expertise in deploying and leading LTE networks in industrial settings
  • In-depth knowledge of IT/OT networking principles, industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC-UA, PROFINET), and IIoT platforms
  • Experience with private LTE, 4G/5G network design, and integration within industrial environments
  • Proficiency in cybersecurity practices for IT/OT systems, including firewall management, VPNs, and intrusion detection
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems, edge computing, and cloud integration
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Superb communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams and partners
  • Leadership experience in running multi-functional projects and teams
