Cohere seeks a Head of Data Foundation Engineering with BigQuery and Terraform expertise to lead its remote-friendly global data platform.
This senior leadership role heads the Data Foundation pillar within Analytics and Data Insights. You will lead engineers, set the roadmap, and own governed data infrastructure. The work spans Airflow, Cloud Run, dbt, Looker, and agentic analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, hire, and grow the data infrastructure engineering team
- Set and sequence the Data Foundation roadmap
- Own ingestion, orchestration, modeling, and analytics serving
- Define governed access using IAM and VPC controls
- Lead reliability, incidents, postmortems, and freshness SLAs
Requirements:
- 10+ years across data engineering or analytics platforms
- Strong management track record leading infrastructure teams
- Production experience with BigQuery, Airflow, and Terraform
- Depth in dimensional modeling and semantic layers
- Experience with governance, security, SLAs, and cross-functional delivery
