Lead Fort Frances Jail operations onsite as a Staff Sergeant, applying sound judgment and crisis management in a 24/7 custodial environment.
This leadership position supervises Sergeants and Correctional Officers while maintaining institutional safety, security, and operations. You will manage staffing, incidents, investigations, programs, resources, and stakeholder relationships. The work requires clear communication, policy knowledge, and decisive leadership under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct staff in a unionized correctional environment
- Manage institutional programs, custody, and public safety
- Coordinate standing orders, policies, and procedures
- Investigate sensitive issues and maintain accountability
- Respond to crises and escalated situations
Requirements:
- First Aid, CPR, and Use of Force certification
- Leadership experience in secure or high consequence environments
- Ability to manage staffing, budgets, and equipment
- Knowledge of legislation, policies, and correctional standards
- Calm, decisive judgment during incidents and emergencies
