The Community Health and Social Services Network (CHSSN) is seeking a visionary, strategic, and bilingual Executive Director to lead province-wide efforts advancing health equity and social inclusion for Quebec’s English-speaking communities. This is a pivotal leadership opportunity for an experienced nonprofit executive who can turn vision into action, build strong partnerships, champion community priorities, and drive lasting impact across Quebec.
CHSSN is a well-established Québec non-profit organization that works with community organizations, partners, and networks across the province to improve access to health and social services for English-speaking communities.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director provides overall leadership for CHSSN’s operations, people, programs, finances, and strategic direction.
You will work closely with the Board to translate organizational priorities into action, strengthen CHSSN’s long-term sustainability, and ensure its programs and partnerships deliver meaningful results for communities.
As CHSSN’s senior leader and public representative of the organization, you will also build relationships with government, funders, community organizations, policymakers, and other key stakeholders—advocating for equitable access to health and social services and amplifying the needs of Quebec’s diverse English-speaking communities.

What You’ll Lead
- Set direction: Lead the development and execution of long-term strategies that advance CHSSN’s mission, priorities, and impact.
- Strengthen sustainability: Develop and execute funding strategies that support financial stability and long-term growth.
- Lead operations: Ensure effective day-to-day operations, policies, systems, and organizational performance.
- Champion the mission: Represent CHSSN with government, policymakers, legislators, funders, partners, and community leaders.
- Drive accountability: Establish meaningful performance measures for the organization and staff, aligned with strategic objectives.
- Protect organizational resilience: Identify and manage risks while strengthening CHSSN’s ability to navigate change and challenges.
- Ensure good governance: Work effectively with the Board and ensure compliance with legal, ethical, regulatory, privacy, fundraising, and nonprofit governance requirements.
- Build an inclusive culture: Champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility across the organization.
What You Bring
You are a strategic and collaborative leader with a strong track record in nonprofit management and a deep commitment to community impact.
You bring:
- Ideally, a minimum of five years of senior management experience in the nonprofit sector or equivalent experience.
- A master’s degree, preferably in public/community health, social sciences, business administration, or a related field.
- Experience working effectively with a Board of Directors, providing strategic advice and supporting strong governance.
- A strong understanding of Quebec’s English-speaking communities and the province’s health and social services landscape.
- Fluency in English and French, spoken and written.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute ambitious strategies that deliver results.
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, reporting, and resource allocation.
- Experience building trusted relationships with government, funders, community partners, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, public speaking, and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of information technology and organizational systems.
