Equipment Operator for PNG in Terrace

Take on a pivotal role as an Equipment Operator with Pacific Northern Gas in Terrace, B.C. Support the operations, maintenance, and construction of natural gas transmission systems.

This full-time position in our Construction and Maintenance Department is ideal for candidates with proven heavy equipment experience. Your primary responsibilities include operating excavators, backhoes, and tractors, performing maintenance on equipment, and collaborating with your crew. You will help maintain rights-of-way and ensure safety is a priority throughout all operations.

Key Responsibilities: • Operate tracked excavators and crawler tractors for construction tasks • Perform maintenance on gas transmission and distribution equipment • Troubleshoot and repair problems on heavy equipment • Manage excavation around live high-pressure pipelines • Maintain knowledge of operating protocols and maintenance procedures

Requirements: • Grade 12 education or equivalent • Valid Class 1 Driver’s License • Experience with heavy equipment near high-pressure gas lines • Ability to work independently in challenging conditions • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
