Vention is a fast-growing venture-backed robotics and industrial automation company building the software and hardware behind Physical AI, helping manufacturers automate at the edge of what’s possible. Our mixed hardware and software model means Finance works across inventory and unit COGS, deployment and commissioning economics, and recurring software revenue, which makes for a broader analytical scope than a typical software business.

Reporting to the FP&A Manager, the Senior Analyst acts as a finance partner and advisor to leaders across the business, and owns the forecasting and analysis behind the decisions they make. In a given week you might sit down with a Sales leader to challenge their forecast assumptions, work out why contribution margin moved in one of the business units and write the explanation that goes to the Board, build the case behind a pricing or hiring decision and walk the CFO through your recommendation. You will work directly with senior leadership on the decisions that shape the company, and be expected to bring a recommendation.

This role is well suited to an experienced analyst who wants to influence decisions and who is looking for real ownership and direct exposure to senior leadership and the Board.

  • Review and challenge business plans, model the trade-offs, and bring a clear recommendation to leadership on roadmap prioritization, resource allocation, and hiring decisions
  • Act as a thought partner to the CFO and functional leaders on strategic questions, from framing the problem through to defending the conclusion
  • Lead business cases and strategic analyses end-to-end, including pricing, unit economics, make-versus-buy, and capacity planning

Financial Planning and Forecasting

  • Own end-to-end forecasting for assigned areas of the business, collaborating with the business in creating the model drivers, assumptions, and reviewing forecast accuracy
  • Lead the monthly and quarterly re-forecast for those areas, working with business partners to validate drivers and assumptions, and explain movements
  • Lead assigned workstreams within the annual growth planning and long-term planning processes, including target setting and resource allocation scenarios

Performance Reporting and Analysis

  • Analyze monthly results against budget and prepare written commentary explaining variances, distinguishing timing from structural drivers, and outlining implications for the full-year outlook
  • Prepare presentations and reporting packages for senior leadership, the Board of Directors, and the Audit and Risk Committee, including supporting narrative and observations
  • Strengthen the analytical infrastructure behind recurring reporting to reduce preparation time and increase time available for analysis

Process and Infrastructure

  • Design and implement improvements to how recurring FP&A work is delivered, including query automation, modelling standards, and data pipeline enhancements
  • Leverage AI tools to automate recurring workflows while applying critical judgment to validate outputs, enabling higher productivity and deeper focus on strategic analysis
