The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Controller is responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of the company’s accounting records and financial reporting. This hands‑on leadership role oversees the monthly and annual close, financial reporting, inventory and cost accounting, internal controls, audit support, and day‑to‑day accounting operations. The Controller partners closely with operational leaders and Corporate Finance to ensure compliance with US GAAP and SOX requirements while continuously improving processes, systems, and the capabilities of the accounting team. What You’ll Do
Financial Close and Reporting
Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accounting entries, reconciliations, analyses, and reporting deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule. Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and supporting schedules. Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages, including the balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, variance analysis, and supporting disclosures. Ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial information submitted to Corporate Finance for consolidation and external reporting. Accounting Operations
Oversee general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, revenue recognition, intercompany accounting, and other day‑to‑day accounting operations. Oversee fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, transfers, depreciation, disposals, impairment assessments, and construction-in-progress. Oversee intercompany accounting, reconciliations, settlements, and elimination support. Coordinate indirect tax, excise tax, income tax, and other regulatory filings in collaboration with internal and external tax specialists. Oversee daily cash management, banking activity, payment controls, and support cash flow forecasting in partnership with the Director of Finance and Corporate Treasury. Inventory and Cost Accounting Review
Review key inventory and cost accounting analyses and outputs, including costing methodologies, production variances, overhead allocations, inventory reconciliations, net realizable value assessments, and excess and obsolete inventory provisions. Partner with the Director of Finance and the Cost and Inventory team on complex accounting matters, significant estimates, controls, and financial reporting impacts. Internal Controls and Compliance
Ensure accounting policies and financial reporting comply with US GAAP and corporate finance requirements, escalating significant or judgmental matters to the Director of Finance and Corporate Controller. Own the design, execution, and documentation of internal controls over financial reporting within the finance function. Ensure SOX controls are performed accurately and on time, support control testing, remediate deficiencies, and identify opportunities to strengthen or automate controls. Maintain appropriate segregation of duties and review access, approval workflows, and changes affecting financial systems and processes. Audit and Technical Accounting
Lead the preparation and coordination of external audit requirements, including supporting schedules, audit evidence, technical accounting documentation, and resolution of audit findings. Serve as the primary day‑to‑day finance contact for the annual audit and quarterly review process, escalating significant matters to the Director of Finance. Research and document accounting conclusions for complex or non‑routine transactions, including revenue recognition, inventory, fixed assets, leases, impairment, provisions, and intercompany transactions. Systems and Process Improvement
Act as a finance process owner for the ERP and related financial systems, ensuring appropriate configuration, data integrity, workflows, user access, and control design. Lead accounting process improvements and automation initiatives that improve reporting accuracy, control effectiveness, and close efficiency. Partner with Business Solutions and business process owners to resolve system and data issues affecting financial reporting. Team Leadership
