who brings strong hands-on technical knowledge, enjoys solving manufacturing challenges, and takes pride in helping others succeed. This is an opportunity to play a key role in strengthening our copper manufacturing processes, supporting our production teams, and ensuring we have the technical capability, documentation, and training needed to consistently deliver quality products. Why This Opportunity Matters:
As our
Manufacturing Technical Lead – Copper , you will be the technical resource supporting our copper cable and wire-harness manufacturing operations. You will work closely with Production, Quality, Product Management, and other departments to develop and improve manufacturing methods, troubleshoot technical challenges, establish clear work instructions, support equipment and tooling requirements, and help team members build their technical skills. This is a hands-on technical leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys being on the production floor, understanding how things work, finding better ways to do them, and sharing their knowledge with others. You won't be responsible for managing daily production schedules or supervising employees. Instead, you'll focus on the technical side of manufacturing, ensuring our people, processes, equipment, and documentation are set up for success. Primary Areas of Influence:
Manufacturing Processes & Technical Support:
Develop, document, and improve manufacturing methods for copper cable and wire-harness products. Provide hands-on technical support for wire cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, termination, connector assembly, harness construction, and testing. Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and identify practical, sustainable solutions. Help establish consistent processes that support quality, efficiency, and repeatability. Support Production in resolving technical challenges that affect workflow and product quality. Equipment, Tooling & Manufacturing Readiness:
Establish and maintain equipment set‑up requirements and manufacturing parameters. Evaluate tooling, fixtures, crimp applicators, harness boards, and other manufacturing equipment. Identify opportunities to improve equipment capability, process efficiency, and manufacturing consistency. Support prototype builds, First Articles, production trials, and new product introductions. Ensure manufacturing processes, tooling, documentation, and technical training are ready before new products enter production. Documentation & Process Development:
Develop and maintain production bills of materials (BOMs), manufacturing routings, work instructions, and equipment set‑up documentation. Establish realistic manufacturing labour standards to support planning and costing. Create clear, practical instructions that help team members perform their work accurately and consistently. Maintain current documentation and support controlled process changes. Identify opportunities to standardize processes and reduce unnecessary variation. Training & Team Development:
Provide hands‑on technical training and support to production team members. Help develop competency in cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, assembly, and testing processes. Support cross‑training and knowledge sharing across the Copper department. Develop training aids and technical references. Work with Production leadership to identify and address technical skill gaps. Quality & Continuous Improvement:
Partner with Quality and Production to investigate manufacturing defects and recurring technical issues. Support root‑cause analysis and corrective actions. Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, cycle time, and manufacturing inefficiencies. Improve manufacturing methods, tooling, equipment set‑ups, and process flow. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen safety, quality, and productivity. What You Bring:
Hands‑on experience in copper cable, wire-harness, or related electrical/electronic manufacturing. Strong technical knowledge of wire cutting, stripping, crimping, termination, assembly, and testing processes. Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment, tooling, and production processes. Ability to read and interpret
