Software Engineer – DevOps & Automation (Senior)

About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer – DevOps & Automation to join the Information Technology team in the Americas.

In this role, you will design, develop, enhance, and operate applications and automation solutions that improve the efficiency and reliability of IT services. You will work across development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and business teams to automate processes, modernize applications, maintain secure environments, and deliver sustainable technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions using APIs, Python, Java, JavaScript, Selenium, and related technologies.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of IT operations.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs and backend services using frameworks such as Spring Boot and Flask.
• Manage application enhancements and changes in collaboration with users, stakeholders, and technical teams.
• Support applications throughout their lifecycle, from requirements and development through deployment, production support, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain application databases and ensure the reliability and integrity of application data.
• Produce clear technical documentation, including system requirements, operating procedures, support runbooks, and knowledge-transfer materials.
• Troubleshoot and resolve functional and technical incidents while ensuring timely communication with application users and stakeholders.
• Coordinate communications related to application releases, outages, maintenance activities, and project milestones.
• Maintain application infrastructure hosted in private cloud environments, ensuring alignment with cybersecurity, operational, and technology standards.
• Remediate security vulnerabilities and proactively address software, infrastructure, and technology obsolescence.
• Contribute to CI/CD and DevOps practices using tools such as Git, Jenkins, Harbor, and related orchestration technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and global IT teams to design and deliver shared technology solutions.
• Promote engineering best practices, including maintainable code, testing, automation, documentation, and operational resilience.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with hands‑on development experience using Java, JavaScript, Python, and Transact‑SQL.
• Strong experience designing and integrating REST APIs, including frameworks such as Spring Boot and Flask.
• Experience with Git, Selenium, and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with modern development environments such as IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, and/or Visual Studio Code.
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps tooling, including Jenkins, Harbor, or comparable technologies.
• Experience supporting applications in production environments, including troubleshooting, incident resolution, deployments, and ongoing maintenance.
• Understanding of secure software development, vulnerability remediation, and technology lifecycle management.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with one or more of the following would be considered an asset:

• PowerShell.
• Camunda, Form.io, and BPMN.
• Insomnia or similar API development and testing tools.
• PostgreSQL.
• JIRA and Agile delivery methodologies.
• Unit, integration, and system testing.
• Autosys or similar workload automation/scheduling platforms.
• DevOps practices and tooling.
• Private and/or public cloud environments.

Language Requirements:
