Lead Microsoft SQL Server architecture remotely from Toronto, designing secure, scalable platforms through deep database design and performance tuning expertise.
This contract SQL Architect role may convert to a three-month Contract-to-Hire opportunity. You will guide enterprise data platform evolution across transactional and analytical workloads. The work spans data modeling, governance, data integration, cloud solutions, and stakeholder collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design enterprise database architectures and aligned data models
- Establish standards, naming conventions, and governance practices
- Optimize queries, stored procedures, ETL processes, and database performance
- Architect high-availability, disaster recovery, and migration solutions
- Lead technical reviews, incident remediation, and team mentorship
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field
- 10+ years in database development, administration, or architecture
- 5+ years in database architecture or technical leadership
- Expert-level Microsoft SQL Server knowledge
- Enterprise OLTP, warehouse, modeling, security, and governance experience
