Business Development Specialist role at Pivot + Edge
We’re a marketing company that solves the hiring challenge — helping mission‑driven companies attract, engage, and hire top talent without the agency fluff or inflated fees.
We’re looking for a Business Development Partner who thrives on the chase — someone with a hunter mindset who’s motivated by growth, thrives on autonomy, and is ready to disrupt an industry that’s long overdue for a shake‑up.
Identify, engage, and convert startups and scaling businesses that need a smarter way to hire.
Build and execute bold outreach strategies — personalized campaigns, creative pitches, partnerships, and events that get attention.
Work closely with our marketing and delivery teams to turn leads into long‑term partnerships.
Be the face of Pivot + Edge: Represent us at industry events, founder meetups, and ecosystem gatherings across Ontario (occasional travel + evening events expected).
Bring ideas, test strategies, and iterate fast. You live for the thrill of closing new business.
You want to help redefine what hiring looks like for startups.
Comfortable representing the brand and building relationships in person.
High‑earning potential: Every client you bring on helps startups build their teams, tell their story, and scale faster.
As we expand, you’ll have a voice in building our sales strategy, tools, and structure.
3–5 years of experience in business development, sales, or partnerships (preferably in B2B, marketing)
~ Experience prospecting from scratch — outbound, warm intros, partnerships, and creative lead generation (this is not an inbound‑only role)
~ Confidence engaging founders, CEOs, and senior leaders and guiding value‑based conversations (not feature‑selling)
~ Comfortable representing the brand in person , including networking events, meetups, and ecosystem gatherings (occasional evenings required)
~ Familiarity with the startup ecosystem in Ontario (or actively building relationships within it) is a strong asset
~ Initial screening (video call) with Director, Marketing & Operations: 30 minutes
Final Meet the Team (video call): 30 minutes – 1 hour
