This full-time, onsite role combines expertise in laser physics and target design to drive significant advancements in fusion energy. As the Director of Integrated Target Design, you will lead a team of scientists and engineers in enhancing target physics for cutting-edge laser architecture. Your leadership will include advanced simulations, mentorship, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The role emphasizes building a culture of performance and collaboration while delivering on the ambitious mission of commercializing fusion technology. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead recruitment and mentorship for the Integrated Target Design group
- Translate program priorities into detailed team objectives
- Communicate resource needs to program leadership
- Ensure alignment between modeling and design needs
- Participate in cross-functional technical discussions
- Ph.D. in Physics or Engineering with knowledge of ICF
- Proven leadership in scientific or technical fields
- Strong communication skills for diverse teams
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- U.S. citizenship or legal residency required
