Toronto-based Senior Applied AI Engineers use Python and generative AI to build production systems for Bloomberg’s financial technology platforms.
Bloomberg’s Engineering AI department develops search, discovery, and workflow solutions using machine learning, large language models, and dense vector databases. In this senior position, you will connect research with production for financial query understanding, code generation, and agentic systems over structured data.
Key Responsibilities
Write, test, and maintain production-quality code Design, train, experiment, and evaluate ML models Build agentic systems for complex financial questions Own cross-team projects and provide technical leadership Publish findings in documentation, whitepapers, or publications
Requirements:
Ph.
D. with zero to two years’ experience, or equivalent education and experience Apply machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI Strong Python and scalable production engineering skills Build LLM applications using retrieval-augmented generation or evaluation Develop agentic systems using tools, APIs, databases, or code execution Apply your Python, LLM, and agentic AI expertise to Bloomberg’s customer-facing financial systems in Toronto.
