ABOUT WALTER PUBLIC INVESTMENTS
Walter Public Investments (WPI) is the portfolio management and distribution platform of Walter Capital Management (WCM), serving institutional investors, high-net-worth individuals, families, and family offices. We offer a multi-strategy investment platform that combines strategies we manufacture in-house with partner strategies we distribute selectively — acting as manufacturer, wholesaler, and distributor of investment solutions under one roof.
Our ambition is to keep building one of the most trusted private investment houses in Québec and beyond: a firm where clients benefit from institutional-calibre investment management, direct access to the people who manage their capital, and long-term relationships grounded in trust and genuine partnership. As part of the broader Walter ecosystem, we bring an entrepreneurial mindset and patient, long-term perspective to everything we do.
ABOUT YOUR ROLE
We are seeking a motivated and versatile Sales Coordinator to support the Managing Partner in building WPI’s distribution engine. The role has two equally important dimensions: driving the discipline of our sales and business development process and producing the high-quality marketing and communications that fuel it. It is a high-exposure position, ideal for an early-career professional who wants to learn how a growing investment platform builds its client franchise — and who aspires to grow into a client-facing business development role over time.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the discipline of the CRM (HubSpot): logging touchpoints, keeping pipeline and relationship data current, and supporting the referral-tracking process.
- Produce pipeline and activity reporting that keeps the commercial effort measurable and accountable.
- Conduct prospect and market research to help structure and prioritize business development activities.
- Support the Managing Partner in client and prospect interactions: meeting preparation, briefing materials, note-taking, and timely, well-crafted follow-ups.
Marketing & communications
- Take primary responsibility for the WPI newsletter - from content planning through production and distribution.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the commercial process, including leveraging AI and automation tools to sharpen outreach and content.
- Ensure public-facing materials (website, LinkedIn, collateral) tell one consistent, high-quality story.
- Coordinate and support Walter events and client touchpoints that generate awareness and follow-up opportunities.
- Develop and refine client-facing materials: pitch decks, strategy one-pagers, and consolidated communications aligned with our multi-strategy story.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance or Business; Marketing or Communications backgrounds will be considered with a demonstrated interest in investments.
- 1-4 years of relevant experience in asset management, wealth management, financial services, or a comparable client-facing environment; exceptional internships will be considered.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English, with genuinely strong writing — our client-facing standard is high.
- Interpersonal polish and comfort in client-facing settings; a natural relationship-builder.
- Working knowledge of investment concepts and a genuine interest in financial markets and investment management; completion of (or enrolment in) the Canadian Securities Course, or CFA Level I candidacy, is an asset.
- Proficiency with CRM tools and strong command of Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint; comfort with AI and automation tools.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to run multiple workstreams in parallel - newsletter cycles, events, CRM, and meeting support.
- A self-starter with a collaborative, transparent, and rigorous mindset.
WHY JOIN OUR TEAM?
