Machinist Responsibilities Set up and operate machining equipment, including lathes, knee mills, surface grinders, bandsaws, and CNC milling machines, to produce accurate and square parts. Repair and modify machined parts for assemblies to ensure proper fit, function, and performance within custom automation systems. Perform precise machining work within 0.001" tolerances, verifying dimensions using appropriate measuring tools and techniques. Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings to plan machining operations and sequences. Monitor equipment and tooling condition, reporting issues and assisting with basic maintenance or adjustments to ensure consistent quality. Experience operating machining equipment, including CNC milling machines. Blueprint and detailed machining drawing reading skills. The role is based in a custom automation shop
- the environment is hands-on and equipment-rich, with access to surface grinders, bandsaws, lathes, knee mills, NC mills, and CNC milling machines. Standard hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. with overtime paid after 44 hours. After the probation period, you may choose an alternative schedule of Monday to Thursday 6:00 a.m.
