Bilingual Legal Assistant
Montreal, QC (Hybrid)
- 2x on-site & 3 days remote Employment Type: Full-Time Our client is a growing national law firm dedicated to providing high-quality legal services to Indigenous communities, organizations, and individuals across Canada. They are seeking a highly organized and proactive Bilingual Legal Assistant to support a team of lawyers and collaborate closely with legal support staff to ensure the efficient operation of the Montreal office. This position offers excellent opportunities for professional growth and exposure to a wide range of legal and administrative responsibilities. Complete monthly expense reconciliations for assigned lawyers. Provide administrative support for litigation, negotiations, regulatory matters, and other legal proceedings. Prepare, edit, format, and organize legal correspondence, reports, court documents, pleadings, and other legal materials. Coordinate meetings, prepare materials, arrange catering, and provide logistical support. Manage client documentation, pleadings, corporate records, reports, and legal briefs. Assist with reviewing, organizing, and assembling documentary evidence for complex legal matters. Coordinate filing and service of legal documents with courts and regulatory bodies. Coordinate frequent travel arrangements and related logistics. Provide general administrative support and assist with special projects as required. Fully bilingual in English and French (spoken and written). Diploma or certificate from an accredited Legal Assistant or Administrative Assistant program, or equivalent experience. Minimum 4 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar legal support role. Exceptional attention to detail and technical proficiency. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with legal software such as iManage, Cosmolex, or similar document management systems. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision.
