ILM Vancouver seeks a Senior Motion Capture Animator skilled in retargeting and motion blending for hybrid work at its Coal Harbour studio.
This senior position edits realistic motion-captured performances non-destructively for human, prop, and bipedal characters. The work may extend to quadrupeds when required. You will preserve actor performances while delivering high-quality animation and mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
Transfer motion between hierarchies independently and proficiently Adjust captured performances non-destructively while preserving actor intent Correct character, prop, environment, and terrain contacts Add finger, toe, tail, posture, gesture, and weight animation Blend clips into fluid, believable transitions and mentor juniors
Requirements:
Degree in animation, visualization, computer science, or equivalent experience MotionBuilder, Blender, Nuance, or Maya experience with captured performances High-end film VFX experience and current showreel Strong retargeting, blending, and animation principles knowledge Motion capture experience and ability to mentor junior members Bring motion editing, retargeting, blending, and mentoring expertise to ILM Vancouver’s high-quality character animation work. #J-18808-Ljbffr
