Embark on a meaningful journey as a Medical Laboratory Technologist 1. Perform vital laboratory analyses in core disciplines to support patient diagnostics and care delivery in remote locations.
In this critical role, you will engage in routine laboratory procedures, including chemistry and hematology, and ensure proper sample handling practices. Your timely testing will play a vital role in diagnosing conditions and supporting public health measures effectively. Collaborate with healthcare teams while acting as a resource for laboratory practices and instrument maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct routine analyses in chemistry and transfusion medicine
• Collect specimens from diverse patient populations
• Acknowledge and act on abnormal laboratory results
• Work alongside public health teams on regional health issues
• Provide expertise in laboratory operations and practices
Requirements:
• Diploma or degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution
• Minimum 3 years working in a Canadian hospital laboratory
• Recent experience across all core laboratory disciplines
• Registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Society required
