Join Good Shepherd’s Men's Centre as a Relief Shelter Support Worker. This role involves direct client contact and support, primarily on weekends, with flexible hours. As a Relief Shelter Support Worker, you will help individuals in need by providing essential services related to comfort and safety in a shelter setting. Your expertise in social services and understanding of issues like homelessness, mental health, and substance use will be key. Professionalism and exceptional communication skills are vital to ensure effective support and adherence to trauma-informed practices. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct client support in shelter services
- Manage individual caseload with client-centered focus
- Develop personalized counseling plans for clients
- Observe health and safety regulations at all times
- Work within an anti-racist and anti-oppressive framework
- Post-secondary education in social services or lived experience
- Strong understanding of harm reduction principles
- Valid C.P.R. certification required
- Residential caseload experience preferred
- Fluency in a second language is an asset
