Provide essential support as a Homelessness Outreach Worker with BC Housing located in Smithers, BC. This full-time role focuses on assisting individuals navigating homelessness within the community. Reporting to the Coordinated Access and Assessment Manager, you will play a pivotal role in connecting people with necessary housing services and resources. Your work will involve collaborating with various service providers and participating in a regional response team to address homelessness effectively. Your commitment and experience will directly contribute to positive community outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
- Connect vulnerable individuals with appropriate resources
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
- Implement de-escalation techniques during crisis
- Engage with community partners to enhance support
- Maintain comprehensive records of outreach efforts
- High School diploma and social service courses
- Experience working with homeless populations
- Knowledge of community resources and housing services
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license necessary
