Build Rust-powered web scraping infrastructure at Nascent, working onsite in Montreal across production engineering and operations. Own resilient systems that support trading and research operations.
As a Software Engineer focused on data acquisition, you will build and operate infrastructure across cloud providers, bare metal, and mixed operating systems. Your work includes scrapers, proxy management, observability, fleet health, and agentic workflows. You will collaborate with analysts and researchers on reliable data delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Build resilient production web scrapers primarily in Rust Operate distributed infrastructure across heterogeneous machines Diagnose failures using logs, telemetry, and monitoring Design proxy rotation and network evasion strategies Deploy LLM-based workflows for source onboarding
Requirements:
Two to five years of software engineering experience Proficiency in Go, Python, C++, Java, or similar Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, proxies, and CDNs Experience with web scraping or data acquisition at scale Experience operating heterogeneous distributed infrastructure Bring systems engineering, Rust, networking, and scraping expertise to Nascent’s Montreal data acquisition infrastructure.
