The City of Red Deer seeks a Transit Dispatcher for general dispatch duties and operational coordination. You will prepare work assignments, communicate maintenance needs, administer payroll records, and support safety compliance. The position requires clear communication with staff, departments, and the public.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate staffing and equipment for daily transit service Monitor vehicle movement, operations, and facility activities Prepare and distribute daily employee work assignments Communicate maintenance needs and breakdowns with garage personnel Enter payroll information and maintain assignment records
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent Windows, spreadsheet, and word processing proficiency One year of bus operator experience preferred Ability to complete Trapeze and MAIOR training Effective communication and independent decision-making abilities Support dependable municipal transit service through dispatch coordination, workforce records, vehicle monitoring, and safety-focused communication.
