Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a results-driven and experienced Operations Manager to oversee the manufacturing and production processes for their FMCG products in East London. This critical leadership role is responsible for ensuring efficient, high-quality, and safe production operations, managing resources effectively, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will lead a dedicated team, optimize production workflows, and implement best practices to meet demand and maintain cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate has a strong background in manufacturing management within the FMCG sector and a passion for operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of daily manufacturing and production operations to meet output targets and quality standards for FMCG products in East London. Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiency. Manage production schedules, labor, and resources to optimize output and minimize downtime. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the production facility. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production supervisors and staff, fostering a culture of accountability and performance. Collaborate with supply chain, quality assurance, and engineering departments to ensure seamless operations. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in Operations Management or Production Management, with significant experience in the FMCG industry. Proven track record of improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, and implementing Lean or Six Sigma methodologies. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and EHS standards. Experience managing budgets and P&L for a manufacturing operation is essential. Benefits
