Acute Neurology Physiotherapist Halifax

Assess and treat acute neurology and neurosurgery inpatients as a Physiotherapist with IWK Health in Halifax, working daytime shifts.

Reporting to Rehabilitation Services, this permanent full-time Physiotherapist provides assessment, intervention, and follow-up. The position supports pediatric and acute care services through direct, consultative, and monitoring work. Collaboration, evidence-based practice, and Family Centred Care guide service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess acute neurology and neurosurgery inpatients
• Provide interventions and follow-up as indicated
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and community members
• Educate patients, families, staff, and affiliated students
• Provide rotational weekend standby and callback coverage

Requirements:

• Graduate of a Canadian Physiotherapy Association approved program
• Nova Scotia physiotherapy practice license
• Minimum two years of clinical experience
• Current Basic Life Support certification or renewal challenge certificate
• Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
