Project Accountant at Valard Construction

Join Valard Construction as a Project Accountant, located in Calgary or Edmonton, AB. Oversee financial success in Transmission Line projects through detailed cost tracking and analysis. As an essential member of the Transmission group, you'll report to the Project Controller and work closely with Project Managers and field operations. Your role involves managing full life-cycle accounting functions and cost control for construction projects. By maintaining budget integrity and ensuring compliance with financial standards, you will support client billing and play a pivotal role in project reporting.

Key Responsibilities
• Set up new projects and maintain job data integrity
• Review and correct cost coding for transactions
• Manage monthly cost accruals and journal entries
• Prepare client billings and monitor accounts receivable
• Administer subcontractor contracts and facilitate audits

Requirements:
• 5 years of project accounting experience
• Post-secondary education in Finance or Accounting
• Familiarity with construction revenue recognition principles
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with JD Edwards or SAP Make a significant impact on Valard’s project success through your accounting expertise.
