The R&D Global Director leads multiple engineering teams, managers, technical leads, and contributors. This senior technology leader guides Java architecture, delivery execution, Agile practices, and organizational transformation. The work supports enterprise software and digital government solutions while aligning engineering priorities with customer commitments and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead global Java software development organization across multiple engineering teams
- Guide architecture, modernization, delivery, and technology investment decisions
- Improve software quality, release reliability, and delivery predictability
- Manage concurrent initiatives, resources, risks, and competing priorities
- Coach engineering managers and strengthen global leadership capabilities
Requirements:
- Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or related degree
- At least 10 years of professional Java development experience
- Experience leading distributed engineering organizations across time zones
- Expertise in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and REST APIs
- Knowledge of Agile, DevOps, cloud, databases, and architecture
