About the Role
Roma Fence Ltd. is looking for a reliable and hands-on Facility Maintenance Operator to join our team in Bolton, Ontario. We're looking for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and keeping things running smoothly. In this role, you'll take care of day-to-day facility maintenance, handle general repairs, and help ensure our buildings and equipment are safe and well-maintained. The ideal candidate is someone who takes initiative, pays attention to detail, and is comfortable handling a variety of maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out regular inspections of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components.
- Handle general maintenance and repairs, such as fixing leaking faucets, replacing light bulbs, patching drywall, and repairing ceiling tiles.
- Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on equipment, machinery, and appliances.
- Organize and follow preventive maintenance schedules to keep facilities and equipment in good working condition.
- Coordinate routine servicing and annual inspections.
- Contact and coordinate with outside contractors, including electricians, plumbers, and other service providers, when specialized repairs are needed.
- Oversee contractor activities to ensure maintenance work is completed properly.
- Assist with outdoor maintenance, including landscaping, snow removal, and keeping the property clean and safe.
- Conduct routine safety checks, including fire alarms, emergency exits, and other safety equipment.
- Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns and take appropriate action.
- Follow company health and safety procedures while completing daily tasks. Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in building maintenance, facility maintenance, or a similar role.
- Good working knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical repairs, and general maintenance.
- Basic understanding of HVAC and mechanical systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working independently and managing daily maintenance priorities.
- Physically capable of performing hands-on maintenance work.
- Reliable, organized, and able to work well with others. Nice to Have The following qualifications would be an asset but are not mandatory:
- Trade school or vocational training.
- Building Operator Certificate.
- HVAC or mechanical maintenance certification.
- Experience maintaining commercial or industrial facilities.
