2nd Year Carpenter Apprentice

Primis Contracting Inc. is seeking a motivated, dependable, and safety-focused 2nd Year Carpenter Apprentice to join our growing team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial and industrial construction projects throughout the Edmonton area, with a focus on tilt-up construction, precast concrete panel installation, formwork, structural concrete, and finishing carpentry. We are looking for an apprentice who has hands-on experience in carpentry, concrete formwork, and finishing carpentry, and who is eager to continue developing their skills alongside experienced construction professionals. - Interested in building a long-term career with opportunities for growth Job Responsibilities As a Carpenter Apprentice with Primis Contracting, you will assist with a variety of commercial and industrial construction activities, including:
- Assisting with tilt-up concrete construction projects
- Supporting precast concrete panel installation and erection activities
- Constructing, installing, and stripping concrete formwork
- Assisting with concrete placement and finishing activities
- Performing structural and general carpentry work
- Assisting with layout and site preparation
- Installing blocking, backing, bracing, and other structural carpentry components
- Performing interior and exterior finishing carpentry tasks
- Reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, and site plans
- Operating hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintaining clean, organized, and safe work areas
- Participating in daily safety meetings, hazard assessments, and site inspections
- Identifying and reporting safety concerns or hazards
- Accurately completing timecards and required site documentation
- Working closely with journeyperson carpenters, supervisors, and project teams
- Performing physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, and moving materials
- Completing other duties as assigned Qualifications & Requirements We are seeking candidates who possess:
- Registered 2nd Year Carpenter Apprentice status
- Minimum 2 years of construction experience
- Required experience in General Carpentry, Concrete Formwork and Finishing Carpentry
- Experience with tilt-up construction, precast concrete panel installation, structural concrete, or commercial construction projects is considered a strong asset
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and safe work practices
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds The Following Certifications Are Considered Assets

- Rigging and Hoisting Experience Additional Details
- Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work as required
- Overtime may be available based on project schedules
- Travel may be required to multiple project sites throughout the Edmonton area
