Position: Independent Custodian Start Date: December 1, 2026 Work Schedule: Evening shifts, including one weekend evening per week Hours: Approximately 1.5 hours per day, with additional time required on certain days for deep cleaning Position Overview We are seeking a reliable, responsible, and self-motivated part-time custodian to maintain the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall appearance of our school facility. This position is ideal for someone who can work independently, manage their time effectively, and take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment for students, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will be responsible for routine cleaning and occasional deep cleaning of classrooms, hallways, offices, the kitchen, common areas, and washrooms.

Key Responsibilities

- Clean and sanitize classrooms, including desks, tables, chairs, and frequently touched surfaces.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors as appropriate.
- Clean and disinfect washrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and other fixtures.
- Clean the kitchen and shared spaces, including countertops, tables, and sinks.
- Maintain the cleanliness of hallways, offices, student lounges, and other common areas.
- Empty garbage and recycling bins and replace liners as needed.
- Replenish cleaning supplies and report low inventory.
- Perform periodic deep cleaning tasks as required, which may take additional time beyond the regular daily schedule.
- Identify and report maintenance issues, damage, or safety concerns.
- Ensure cleaning equipment and supplies are stored safely after use.
- Follow appropriate cleaning, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures. Qualifications and Requirements
- Previous custodial or commercial cleaning experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
- Good time-management skills and the ability to complete assigned tasks within the scheduled hours.
- Physically capable of performing routine cleaning duties, including standing, bending, lifting, and moving cleaning equipment.
- Willingness to work evening shifts, including one weekend evening per week.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Working Hours
The regular cleaning schedule is expected to be approximately 1.5 hours per day, primarily during the evening when the school is less occupied. One evening shift each weekend will also be required. Additional time may be scheduled on certain days for deep cleaning or other periodic cleaning tasks. The exact schedule and duties will be discussed with the successful candidate.
