Chatham-Kent, Ontario POSITION: Registered Practical Nurse DEPARTMENT: Progressive Care Unit STATUS: Temporary Regular Part Time (January 2027 to June 2027) # OF POSITIONS: 1 SALARY RANGE: $37.24
- $38.19 POSTING DATE: 27 October 2026 CLOSING DATE: BARGAINING UNIT: UNIFOR As part of the candidate assessment process, applicants may be required to complete a written and oral examination and provide a record of educational activities (including e-learning report) over the last 2 years during interview. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skill, Experience)
- Current Certification of Competence as a Registered Practical Nurse with the Ontario College of Nurses.
- RPN Diploma preferred.
- Successful completion of Coronary Care Course.
- Current BCLS certification.
- Minimum of 2 years acute medical-surgical experience (within the last 3 years).
- Airway Management Skills. -Computer Skills
- Intranet, Microsoft Office, Care Manager, STAR, Solcom, Risk Monitor Pro.
- Practice level consistent with the full scope of practice as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario, which includes but is not limited to:
- Evidence of the successful, administration and management of blood & blood products.
- Evidence of the successful completion and/or practice in processing physician orders, administration of oral, subcutaneous, IM, suppository, aerosol and IV medications, venipuncture and IV initiation and management.
- Demonstrated adherence to the expectations of nursing practice at CKHA.
- Member of RPNAO preferred.
- Satisfactory attendance.
