Vancouver BC, BC, Canada Vancouver Canine Dog Walking Full-time
About Vancouver Canine Vancouver Canine provides enriching off-leash group hikes and private walks across Vancouver. Our clients trust us to keep their dogs safe, happy and well cared for, and our walkers rely on a strong team behind them when schedules change or unexpected needs arise.

About the Role
This is a unique senior field role for someone who is equally strong with dogs, people and details. Your first priority is dependable walk coverage: stepping into group-hike and private-walk routes when team members are sick, on vacation or otherwise unavailable. You will also help with scheduling, client onboarding, coordinating vehicle maintenance, and help train team members. This is not a desk job. The successful candidate will spend substantial time driving, outdoors and actively handling dogs in all weather. We need a calm, resourceful “unicorn” who can safely lead a group hike in the morning and organize a schedule, training session or client handoff later that day. Schedule and Hours
- Monday through Friday.
- A minimum of four paid hours is guaranteed each weekday, for a minimum of 20 paid hours per week.
- Actual hours are expected to average approximately 30–40 per week, but hours above the guaranteed minimum will vary with coverage and operational needs and are not guaranteed.
- On days when walker coverage is required, the shift will normally be 8:00 AM–4:00 PM.
- No regular evenings or weekends are anticipated; any exception would be discussed and scheduled separately. What We’re Looking For Required
- Meaningful dog-handling experience, including confidence with multiple dogs and varied temperaments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage off-leash groups safely, or directly transferable professional experience and the ability to complete Vancouver Canine’s field assessment and training.
- Strong organization, scheduling and follow-through skills.
- Excellent judgment, calm problem-solving and clear communication.
- Confidence speaking with prospective and current clients by phone and in person.
- Valid British Columbia Class 5 driver’s licence and a safe driving record acceptable for company vehicle use.
- Physically able to walk for several hours, handle dogs safely and work outdoors in all weather.
- Reliable Monday–Friday availability, including the full 8:00 AM–4:00 PM window on coverage days.
