Electrical Apprentice
NextGen Electrical | St. John’s, NL and surrounding areas
NextGen Electrical is looking for an electrical apprentice to join our team. We’re open to applicants at different stages of their apprenticeship. Some electrical or construction experience is preferred, but we place a high value on practical judgment, reliability, willingness to learn and a strong work ethic.
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, follows through on instructions, treats customers and coworkers respectfully, and asks questions when they’re unsure.
The work
We handle a variety of residential and commercial projects, including:
- New construction, renovations, rough-ins and finishing.
- Service calls, troubleshooting and electrical repairs.
- Panel replacements and service upgrades.
- EV charger installations.
- Commercial renovations and new builds.
- Celebright permanent exterior lighting installations. You’ll work alongside experienced electricians, assisting with installations, preparing materials, organizing tools and helping keep projects moving safely and efficiently. Some projects involve outdoor work and working from ladders. What we’re looking for
- A dependable person who arrives on time and is ready to work.
- Good practical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to take direction, learn and take initiative within your experience level.
- Care for tools, materials, customer property and the quality of the finished work.
- A professional attitude and clear communication with the team and customers.
- Commitment to safe work practices and keeping the job site organized.
- Reliable transportation to work locations. A valid driver’s licence is an asset. Your apprenticeship year matters, but it isn’t the only thing we consider. We’re interested in what you can do, how you approach the work and your potential to develop in the trade. Pay Hourly pay will be based on a combination of apprenticeship level, relevant experience, practical ability and demonstrated skills.
