Waskesiu Lake SK, SK, Canada WASKESIU RESORTS Full-time
Guest Services & Operations Coordinator Waskesiu Resorts | Waskesiu Lake, Saskatchewan Waskesiu Resorts is looking for a friendly, reliable, adaptable, and hands-on Guest Services & Operations Coordinator to join our team in beautiful Prince Albert National Park. This is an active, front-line position that combines hospitality, guest services, recreation rentals, retail operations, and day-to-day resort support. During the busy summer season, the primary focus is on front desk services and guest experiences across our resort properties. During the spring and fall shoulder seasons, responsibilities shift toward the daily operation of our gift shop. This is a hands-on operational role, not a position focused on supervising or delegating tasks. While the Coordinator will take ownership of daily responsibilities, help guide seasonal staff, and support smooth operations, they are expected to actively participate in the work alongside the rest of the team. One day might involve checking in guests, answering phones, and coordinating with housekeeping. The next could involve receiving merchandise, organizing inventory, preparing recreation rentals, or helping maintain our guest spaces. We're looking for someone who takes pride in getting things done, notices what needs attention, and is willing to roll up their sleeves to help wherever they're needed.

Key Responsibilities
Peak Season (Summer) – Guest Services & Resort Operations During the busy summer months, this position works primarily on the front lines of our accommodation and recreation operations.
- Personally manage daily front desk duties, including guest check-ins, check-outs, reservations, phone calls, emails, and inquiries.
- Welcome guests and provide knowledgeable recommendations about resort amenities, recreation opportunities, Prince Albert National Park, and local attractions.
- Provide day-to-day operational support across Mackenzie Inn, The Wharf, and Cedar Village Cottages.
- Assist guests directly with recreation rentals, including equipment preparation, issuing and receiving rentals, cleaning, inspection, and storage.
- Respond to guest concerns promptly and professionally, taking initiative to resolve issues whenever possible.
- Maintain communication with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure guest needs and property requirements are addressed.
- Assist the gift shop team with customer service, transactions, merchandising, restocking, and general retail duties when required.
- Complete daily administrative tasks, including reservation updates, cash handling, recordkeeping, and reports using WebRez Pro.
- Assist with practical, hands-on tasks throughout resort properties to help ensure clean, organized, and welcoming guest spaces. Shoulder Season (Spring/Fall/Winter) – Gift Shop Operations During the quieter accommodation seasons, the position transitions to a more retail-focused role, supporting the daily operation of Waskesiu Wishing Well Gifts.
- Open, operate, and close the gift shop, including completing daily opening and closing procedures.
- Provide friendly, attentive customer service and assist shoppers with purchases and product information.
- Personally receive shipments, unpack merchandise, price items, replenish stock, and organize inventory.
- Create and maintain appealing product displays, seasonal merchandising, and a welcoming retail environment.
- Monitor inventory needs, prepare orders, communicate with vendors, and follow up on special requests.
- Operate the point-of-sale system, process transactions, complete cash-outs, and maintain accurate records.
- Help train and support seasonal retail team members through hands-on guidance and leading by example.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the retail space, including shelves, displays, stockrooms, and customer areas.
- Assist with other resort operations and guest services as required. Year-Round Responsibilities
- Support digital communications by contributing content, photos, updates, and ideas for seasonal promotions, retail highlights, and local events.
- Participate in planning, preparing, setting up, operating, and cleaning up seasonal events, guest programs, and pop-up activities.
- Maintain accurate operational records and follow established procedures.
- Support housekeeping, site maintenance, and general property operations during busy periods or when additional assistance is required.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments, recognizing that everyone contributes to the overall guest experience.
- Follow resort policies, workplace safety procedures, and applicable national park requirements.
- Take initiative to identify tasks that need attention and complete them without always needing direction. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and takes satisfaction in the everyday work that keeps a hospitality business running. The ideal candidate is a doer as much as a coordinator. They are comfortable taking responsibility, working independently, and helping lead by example, but they also understand that no task is beneath them. Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality, tourism, retail, guest services, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy, seasonal environment.
- A proactive, practical approach to problem-solving and completing daily tasks.
- Willingness and ability to perform hands-on duties, including stocking shelves, preparing rental equipment, cleaning and organizing workspaces, and assisting with general operations.
- Ability to work independently while remaining a cooperative and dependable team member.
- Confidence using computers, email, Microsoft Office, and reservation or point-of-sale systems.
- Flexibility to work across different departments as operational needs change.
- Ability to reside in or relocate to Waskesiu Lake during the employment period. Additional Assets
- Experience with WebRez Pro or similar reservation systems.
- Experience with retail inventory, merchandising, and ordering.
- Experience training or mentoring seasonal staff.
- Knowledge of Prince Albert National Park, Waskesiu Lake, and Saskatchewan tourism.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification.

What We Offer

- Competitive, negotiable wages based on experience and qualifications.
- On-site staff housing options.
- A varied position with opportunities to develop skills across hospitality, tourism, retail, and resort operations.

- The chance to help create memorable guest experiences in Prince Albert National Park. A Note
