Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineer – Simulation & Software Integration

Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Correct-AI Full-time
Correct-AI is seeking a multidisciplinary Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineer to support the development of autonomous and vision-based systems. This is primarily a software and simulation role, but it requires someone with strong mechanical-design instincts who can also create 3D models, develop CAD designs and support physical system integration when needed. The engineer will work across mechanical engineering, mechatronics, computer vision, simulation, controls, and hardware integration alongside our software and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop software tools, simulations and engineering workflows for autonomous and vision-based systems.
• Create and maintain 3D models of equipment, sensors and operating environments for simulation.
• Support the integration and testing of cameras, sensors, compute hardware and control systems.
• Process test and simulation data to diagnose performance and integration issues.
• Assist with camera and sensor positioning, field-of-view analysis and calibration.
• Create CAD designs for mounts, brackets, enclosures and prototype components when required.
• Produce mechanical drawings, BOMs and fabrication specifications.
• Participate in prototype assembly, commissioning, field testing and troubleshooting.
• Contribute to technical design reviews, risk assessments and system-safety activities. What We’re Looking For
• A degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, robotics or a related discipline.
• Strong software-development or technical-programming ability.
• Experience with simulation, modelling, data analysis or engineering software.
• Competence in 3D CAD and practical mechanical design.
• An understanding of cameras, sensors, mechanical systems or vehicle systems.
• The ability to work comfortably across software, simulation and physical hardware.
• A practical, hands-on approach to prototyping and troubleshooting. Helpful Experience (valuable, but not required)
• Python, C++ or similar programming languages
• Linux-based development
• Computer vision, robotics or autonomous systems
• 3D simulation and synthetic-data generation
• Cameras, LiDAR, GNSS, IMUs or other sensing technologies
• Sensor calibration and field-of-view analysis
• Vehicle controls or mobile equipment
• CAD, mechanical drawings and prototype fabrication The ideal candidate is a mechanically grounded engineer, from a mechanical or mechatronics background, who enjoys writing software, building simulations and solving multidisciplinary integration problems. They should be equally comfortable investigating code and data or opening a CAD package to design a component when the project requires it.
