Role Description The Personal Support Worker is a full-time, on-site role based in Edmonton, AB. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support. The Personal Support Worker will provide companionship, engage clients in meaningful activities, and support meal planning and preparation, as well as light housekeeping to maintain a safe and clean home environment. Responsibilities include observing and reporting changes in clients’ health or behavior, following care plans, supporting medication reminders, and collaborating with families and healthcare professionals. The role also requires maintaining clear documentation, respecting client dignity and privacy, and adhering to all care and safety protocols. Qualifications
• Experience working as a Support Worker or Personal Support Worker in home care, community care, or a related setting.
• Strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to build trust, listen effectively, and interact respectfully with clients, families, and colleagues.
• Knowledge of Safeguarding practices, client rights, and confidentiality, with the ability to recognize and report safety or abuse concerns appropriately.
• Basic Technical Support and digital literacy skills to use care documentation tools, mobile devices, and electronic records as required.
• Relevant certification or training in personal support work, health care aide, or equivalent; current CPR/First Aid and clear background checks.
• Ability to assist with lifting, transfers, and mobility; capacity to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
• Experience supporting seniors or individuals with disabilities, including dementia or Alzheimer’s, is an asset.
