Role Description The Line Cook role at Great Lakes Brewery is a full-time, on-site position located in Toronto, ON. The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items to company standards, ensuring consistency, quality, and timely service. Day-to-day tasks include setting up and stocking stations, following recipes and portion guidelines, maintaining cleanliness and food safety, and assisting with inventory and prep work. The role also involves collaborating with the kitchen team, supporting special events or busy service periods, and following all health and safety regulations. This position supports a positive guest experience by delivering well-prepared food that complements GLB’s craft beer offerings.
Qualifications
• Candidates should possess strong food preparation and cooking skills, including experience working on a busy line and following standardized recipes.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and proper handling and storage of ingredients.
• Candidates should possess time management and organizational skills to handle multiple orders and maintain station readiness during peak periods.
• Candidates should possess teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
• Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar kitchen role is preferred; culinary training or certification is considered an asset.
• Candidates should be able to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Interest in craft beer and willingness to learn about GLB’s products is beneficial.
• Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by brewery operations.
