Role Overview The Project Support Engineer (PSE) is a key technical and commercial planning resource for outage and service projects. The PSE develops procedures and detailed execution plans, supports project estimates and schedules, and prepares organized turnover documentation. Working across several projects at once, this role brings practical field experience and technical judgment to site assessments, work-package development, cost and schedule modelling, procurement coordination, and project execution support. The successful candidate will work closely with customers, project leaders, engineering teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to identify risks early, resolve issues, and improve project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
· Interpret contract requirements, scope commitments, and project deliverables.
· Develop detailed execution plans for outage and service activities, including opening, inspection, repair, testing, and closure activities.
· Support scope breakdowns, work breakdown structures, cost estimates, schedules, resource plans, and project cost models.
· Coordinate with customers, vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to support safe and successful project execution.
· Review vendor invoices and supporting records for accuracy, completeness, and consistency with purchase orders and agreed commercial terms.
· Prepare clear supporting documentation for customer invoicing and project turnover.
· Visit customer sites for outage planning, site walk-downs, assessments, and project preparation.
· Review prior inspection reports, engineering recommendations, and historical project information to support customer and internal planning.
· Coordinate tooling, consumables, contingency parts, planned materials, suppliers, and subcontracted services.
· Track procurement activities and follow up on materials and services required to meet project schedules.
· Support the resolution of technical issues with engineering, field service, and project teams.
· Provide timely schedule, task, cost, risk, and progress updates to project leadership.
· Evaluate changes in scope and support their incorporation into project plans, schedules, estimates, and change-order documentation.
· Capture lessons learned, identify project risks, and recommend practical improvements to planning and execution processes.
· Develop work packages and recommend execution improvements based on field experience and project needs.
· Maintain accurate work orders, job packages, and project records while supporting applicable quality, ISO, safety, and confidentiality requirements.
· Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications and Experience
· Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution, with at least three years of relevant field experience; or at least five years of related experience planning and supporting large power-generation projects.
· Experience with outage planning, maintenance, field service, construction, or major equipment service projects in power generation or a comparable industrial environment.
· Ability to read, interpret, analyze, and clearly communicate technical procedures, inspection reports, engineering recommendations, business correspondence, and project records.
· Strong practical problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and reasoning skills.
· Ability to interpret technical drawings, diagrams, schedules, specifications, and engineering documentation.
· Proficiency with project-management, scheduling, spreadsheet, database, word-processing, email, and computer-aided planning tools.
· Ability to work effectively with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, management, field personnel, and cross-functional teams.
· Ability to work safely in industrial environments and travel to customer sites within Canada and, where required, internationally.
· Professional Engineer (P.
Eng.) registration or eligibility for registration in a Canadian province is considered an asset.
