Location: Halifax, NS- Hybrid (4 Days WFO)
Duration: 12 months
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Test Automation Quality Engineer to join a leading financial institution's quality assurance team. You will design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for our critical financial systems, working across both frontend and backend environments.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3 years of test automation experience
- Proficiency in either Selenium with Java or Python with Robot Framework
- Strong SQL knowledge for database validation and query writing
- Backend/API testing experience (REST APIs, microservices)
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar)
- Prior work experience in the financial services industry
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with multiple automation frameworks
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Performance testing experience
- ISTQB certification or equivalent
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automation frameworks: Create and enhance test automation scripts using Selenium with Java or Python with Robot Framework
- Backend Testing: Design and execute API and backend testing strategies, including database validation using SQL
- Test Strategy & Coverage: Identify test scenarios, establish automation priorities, and ensure comprehensive test coverage
- Defect Management: Identify, document, and collaborate with development teams on quality issues
- CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated tests into continuous integration/deployment pipelines
- Performance & Reliability: Monitor test execution, analyze results, and optimize framework performance
- Documentation: Maintain clear test documentation and automation standards
