Position Overview

The Client is seeking a Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist to provide end-to-end quality assurance and testing support for enterprise-level IT systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts; performing functional and non-functional testing; supporting test automation; validating data and system integrity; and working closely with technical and business teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advice on testing strategies, test plans, testing tools, and resource requirements.
  • Plan and organize testing activities for large systems across GUI and non-GUI environments.
  • Develop test strategies, test plans, test cases, test scripts, test data, and test reports.
  • Execute functional, integration, system, regression, and acceptance testing.
  • Support and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Conduct performance, stress, and load testing.
  • Validate system behaviour under different conditions, workloads, and data volumes.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects using tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, ALM, Bugzilla, TestRail, or Zephyr.
  • Work closely with developers and project teams to reproduce and resolve defects.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium, Postman, UFT, TestComplete, Cypress, or similar tools.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Perform backend and database testing using SQL and Oracle.
  • Validate data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across systems and databases.
  • Perform data migration and transformation testing where required.
  • Support basic security testing and collaborate with security specialists on deeper security assessments.
  • Ensure testing activities comply with QA standards, regulatory requirements, and accessibility requirements, including AODA.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of test coverage, test results, defects, and quality metrics.
  • Provide input into user manuals, release notes, and implementation documentation.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, project managers, testing leads, and other project team members throughout the SDLC.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years of enterprise-level software testing experience, including manual and automated testing.
  • Strong experience with test strategy, test plans, test cases, test scripts, test data, and test reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with Selenium, Postman, JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar testing tools.
  • Strong knowledge of functional, integration, regression, UAT, performance, load, and end-to-end testing.
  • Experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps, ALM, or similar defect-tracking tools.
  • Strong SQL/Oracle and backend data validation experience.
  • Knowledge of Azure/AWS, CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Git, or GitLab.
  • Experience with AODA/accessibility testing and QA compliance standards.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • OPS/public-sector experience is an asset.
