Perform chemistry testing as a Medical Laboratory Technician with LifeLabs in Etobicoke, Ontario, supporting accurate patient results overnight. Work Monday through Friday from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with some weekend or statutory holiday shifts.
This temporary full-time, six-month contract supports LifeLabs Medical Laboratory Services. You will handle specimens, enter data, triage testing, and perform manual and automated testing under direct supervision of a medical laboratory technologist. The work follows LifeLabs procedures and emphasizes quality assurance, safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle, prioritize, and process specimens according to LifeLabs procedures
- Enter specimen data and triage testing appropriately
- Perform manual and automated chemistry testing under supervision
- Prepare reagents and controls using defined procedures
- Record maintenance and identify incidents or non-conformances
Requirements:
- High School diploma
- Required MLPAO certification
- Strong familiarity with APX and IntrLab systems
- Understanding of quality assurance and pre-analytical procedures
- Ability to resolve specimen inquiries and follow safety standards
