Join Western Forest Products as a Millwright at our Ladysmith Sawmill Operation in British Columbia. This position offers a competitive wage of $47.69/hour and opportunities for skill development.
We are seeking a certified tradesperson for the Millwright position, focusing on repairing mechanical machinery and ensuring optimal performance. Successful candidates will be safety-conscious and capable of troubleshooting hydraulic systems, rigging, and adhering to lockout protocols. This role will require a commitment to team collaboration and high safety standards while working shifts on Saturdays and Sundays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair and replace mechanical components and machinery
- Troubleshoot hydraulic systems and mechanical issues
- Implement rigging and slinging as needed
- Follow hot work and lockout protocols diligently
- Conduct preventative maintenance for machinery performance
Requirements:
- Red Seal Certified or valid BC/Alberta Journeyperson Millwright Certification
- Preference for candidates with sawmill experience
- Excellent safety record and work ethic
- Strong time management and teamwork skills
- Creative problem solver committed to continuous improvement
