Become a vital part of the City of Grande Prairie as a Heavy Equipment Operator. Operate a range of equipment including motor graders and snow blowers to ensure safe roads for the community.
This position requires an experienced operator with expertise in multiple heavy machinery, including motor graders and tandem axle water trucks. You will play a critical role in winter operations and road maintenance. Join a team dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in a vibrant community through effective public service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate motor grader, tandem plow truck, and front-end loader
- Maintain safe passage on priority roadways during snow operations
- Utilize snow blowers and street sweepers for effective cleaning
- Follow scheduled shifts for 24/7 winter service
- Complete other assigned equipment operations as required
Requirements:
- Valid Alberta Driver's License (Class 3 with Air Brakes Endorsement)
- 2 years of experience operating similar heavy equipment
- Knowledge of snow removal and sweeping operations
- Ability to work shifts throughout winter
- Certification in First Aid and WHMIS preferred
