Build hands-on forestry experience across harvesting, planning, and silviculture while supporting field operations throughout summer 2027. Gain exposure to cutblocks, roads, planting, and regeneration surveys.
This Forestry Summer Student role supports the Woodlands team through field work and office tasks. Work may include layout, reconnaissance, inspections, environmental monitoring, GIS mapping, permit preparation, and data entry. Assignments depend on seasonal needs and your interests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with cutblock and road layout, reconnaissance, and data collection
- Support planting supervision, regeneration, and free growing surveys
- Participate in harvest, road, and contractor compliance inspections
- Assist environmental monitoring and office planning tasks
- Follow safety procedures, meetings, and training requirements
Requirements:
- Enrolled in forestry or natural resource management studies
- Available through summer, generally May through August
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Comfortable outdoors in variable weather and terrain
- Strong work ethic and genuine forestry interest
Develop practical harvesting, planning, silviculture, and field data skills while contributing to the Woodlands team during summer 2027.
