Lead aquatic operations at the Don Wheaton Family YMCA in Edmonton using safety standards, staff coaching, and program oversight. This full-time role works 40 hours weekly with benefits.
The Operations Coordinator, Aquatics supports the Aquatics Manager with daily facility delivery and high-quality participant experiences. Responsibilities include scheduling, safety compliance, team development, swim program evaluation, and YMCA standards. The position requires aquatics leadership experience and current certifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit, train, coach, supervise, and manage aquatics staff
- Evaluate swim programs and implement quality improvement plans
- Mentor aquatic staff on safety and program standards
- Conduct facility audits, checklists, and health safety checks
- Enforce pool rules and respond to emergencies when needed
Requirements:
- Minimum two years' aquatics leadership experience
- Intermediate First Aid and CPR-C certification
- National Lifeguard Pool certification
- YMCA Swim Instructor or Lifesaving Instructor certification
- Flexible availability and ability to obtain vulnerable sector screening
