The North Island department of Emergency Medicine seeks physicians for locum coverage at North Island Hospital Campbell River and District. The regional centre serves North Vancouver Island, with approximately 25,000 emergency visits annually. Local specialties include ICU, general surgery, anesthesia, OB/GYN, pediatrics, orthopedics, plastic surgery, and ENT. University of British Columbia Island Medical Program affiliation provides teaching opportunities for medical students and residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide locum emergency medicine coverage
- Deliver care in a 25,000-visit emergency department
- Work alongside local specialty services
- Teach medical students and residents when appropriate
Requirements:
- Hold CCFP-EM or FRCPC Emergency Medicine
- Be eligible for full CPSBC licensure
- CPSBC USA certified registration is acceptable
- Provide emergency medicine physician services
