We pride ourselves in being leaders in precast concrete innovation, building more energy efficient, sustainable, and safe structures.Job Summary:The Manufacturing Supervisor supports daily operations in our Woodstock precast concrete facility, ensuring production targets are met by maintaining and ensuring the efficient flow of materials throughout the production process.Through effective communication, determination and self-discipline, this role is responsible for planning, procurement, storage, and distribution of materials, components, and supplies needed for manufacturing operations. This role requires hands-on leadership, knowledge in precast processes, and strong coordination with cross-functional teams.Responsibilities:Oversee reinforcing, carpentry, insulation and stores department with support from inventory department.Review and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents to guide and plan production activities.Coordinate with the Engineering department on custom hardware requirements.Coordinate workflow, labour assignments, and material flow to align with production schedules.Supporting and working alongside Inventory Analysts to maintain a minimum level of inventory and prevent shortages or overstocking.Maintain accurate shift documentation.Maintain and enforce compliance with workplace safety policies and quality control procedures.Lead and supervise employees, in a unionized environment, to meet daily targets in a safe and efficient manner.Train, mentor, and develop production employees; facilitate cross-training and skill development.Champion lean manufacturing principles and drive initiatives to streamline material flowCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and maintenance, for optimal production performance.Participate in production planning meetings and contribute to operational strategy.Technical Requirements:3+ years of industrial supervisory or materials management experience, preferable in a unionized environment.Engineering Technology degree or diploma, or equivalent is preferredPrior experience in precast concrete or similar manufacturing is an assetEffective leadership and conflict resolution abilitiesBusiness Requirements:Drive, determination, and a self-disciplined approach to achieving results that meet and maintain job standardsProficiency in Microsoft Office and production management softwareKnowledge of safety regulations and lean manufacturing principlesExcellent organizational and multitasking skills.Cultural Requirements:Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others and demonstrate strong interpersonal skillsAs a member of the OSCO Construction Group, PreCon offers a comprehensive compensation package including health and dental coverage, life insurance, RRSP and tax-free savings account options.
