Avanciers is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Data Engineer to join our team for an exciting Fulltime role with one of our esteemed Fortune 500 clients, based in Canada. This is a REMOTE role. Position: Advanced Data Engineer Location: [CANADA (REMOTE) Job Description: Mandatory Skills Programming Expertise: Strong proficiency in Python, PyTest, and PySpark with a solid understanding of software engineering best practices. OOP Concepts: Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with object-oriented programming principles. Cloud Computing (Azure): Skilled in working with Azure-based data platforms, including Databricks and Delta Live Tables, with effective use of Azure services related to storage, compute, and security. Data Pipelines: Ability to design, develop, and maintain scalable, automated data pipelines for both batch and streaming data ingestion and processing, leveraging Databricks Workflows. Data Architecture & Modeling: Proven experience in designing and implementing robust data models and architectures to support efficient processing, analytics, and reporting needs. Orchestration: Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration tools to automate pipeline execution and manage dependencies. Monitoring & Alerting: Implement monitoring and alerting frameworks to ensure pipeline reliability, identify performance bottlenecks, and proactively resolve issues. Agile Methodologies: Strong understanding and application of Agile practices, actively contributing to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives, with flexibility to adapt to evolving project requirements. Unity Catalog: Working knowledge and practical experience with Unity Catalog for data governance and access management. Good-to-Have Skills GitHub Actions: Experience in implementing CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions. Datadog: Exposure to Datadog for monitoring, logging, and observability. Data Quality: Ability to implement data quality frameworks including profiling, validation, and root-cause analysis to ensure data consistency and accuracy. CI/CD Practices: Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery pipelines for automated testing and deployment of data workflows.
