Job DescriptionOverviewAtkinsRéalis is one of Canada's largest private sector nuclear engineering groups. We are proud to be the steward of Canadian CANDU nuclear technology.Your roleProvide design solutions and assessments for new, updated and modified process systems, structures and components.Prepare and /or review design documents for Nuclear Power Plants; e.g., Design Calculation, Design Requirements, Assessments, Technical Specifications, Drawings, Bill of Materials, and System Code Classification.Perform thermalhydraulic evaluations on complex systems.Prepare and/or review Engineering package, Engineering Quotation Request and Tender Technical Evaluations.Provide support for the preparation of Engineering proposals.Interface with internal and external stake holders as required.Ensure applicable code, standards and regulatory requirements are met.Ensure adherence to project delivery requirements and schedule.Perform walkdowns, attend site visits and meetings as required.About youEngineering degree from an accredited University in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or Engineering Science.Registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.A minimum of 5 years of experience in process-system design/analysis, preferably providing design solutions for CANDU nuclear power plants or BWR/PWR markets.Experience performing heat balance and thermalhydraulic evaluations.Experience in process system design and layout.Experience performing work to nuclear power plants procedures and practices and qualifications for nuclear power plants engineering activities is an asset.Site experience in construction, or commissioning of plant mechanical systems for nuclear or other heavy industries is an asset.Knowledge of analytical tools used for mechanical and process design (e.g., ANSYS, Mathcad, Flomaster, NUCIRC, CATHENA or similar).Working knowledge of/experience using nuclear Codes and Standards, including CSA N285.0 and ASME Section III.Working knowledge of/experience with the CSA B51 standard, ASME B31.1 codes and other nuclear-power-plant applicable standards or regulatory guides related to permanent plant components, pressure boundary equipment, and/or reactor systems.Must have excellent communication and technical writing skills.Rewards & benefitsExplore the rewards and benefits that help you thrive - at every stage of your life and your career at AtkinsRéalis in Canada.Enjoy competitive compensation, employee recognition, and a brilliant range of flexible benefits you can tailor to your health, wellbeing, financial and lifestyle needs.Make the most of diverse opportunities for training and professional development to grow your skills and expertise.And take advantage of our hybrid working culture and generous time-off policies to balance a fulfilling career with your personal life.Be rewarded.
