Geological/Geotechnical Engineer

Job DescriptionOverviewWe are seeking a geological engineer to oversee major geological works in the Greater Montreal area, specifically for the Blue Line Extension of the Montréal metro.Your RoleMonitor underground works according to the site's geological conditions and possible deviations from the project reference bases compiled in a GBR (Geotechnical Baseline Report);Coordinate with STM geologists to ensure proper follow-up of geological mapping, change requests, etc;Coordinate with design engineers to ensure proper follow-up of technical questions, technical sheets and methodologies, modification requests, etc;Oversee excavation site activities in relation to geological and geotechnical conditions and the follow up of the GBR;Prepare visit reports, daily reports, and investigation reports on anticipated and actual site conditions;Analyze tests, reports, and other supporting documents regarding site conditions different from those anticipated, and issue opinions or certifications accordingly.About YouBachelor's degree in geological engineering;Being a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);10 to 15 years in geology with solid knowledge of the geology of the Greater Montréal area;Proficiency in terrain models, LiDAR, geophysical tools, GIS, and geological/geotechnical modeling software is an asset;Experience in tunnels, metro systems, and urban infrastructure (open-air and underground) is an asset.Fluency in French (spoken and written); bilingualism* is an asset.*Since AtkinsRéalis is an international company with offices worldwide and thousands of employees, serving both national and international clients, we must be able to provide services in both French and English.
