Job DescriptionOverviewThe Fuel Channel and Fuel Handling Design Engineering Manager will lead the fuel channel and fuel channel component, and fuel handling design engineering activities for the Qinshan Units 1 and 2 Retube Project and Cernavoda Unit 1 Retube Project.Your roleReporting to the Director of CANDU 6 Retube Fuel Channel and Fuel Handling Design Engineering, the Fuel Channel and Fuel Handling Design Engineering Manager is responsible for:Providing the lead role for the Qinshan Units 1 and 2 Retube and Cernavoda Unit 1 Retube Projects in the area of fuel channel and fuel channel component, and fuel handling design engineering activities including the preparation of the technical specifications, drawings, design specifications, bill of materials, and design certifications.Provide technical expertise on code and standard requirements such as CSA N285 and ASME Section III Division 1 pressure boundary requirements.Ensuring that the activities are executed in accordance with the specified requirements including review and endorsement of the technical content of the deliverables, verification and ensuring a high-quality of deliverables, on-time and within budget delivery of the deliverables, and approval of the deliverables.Interfacing with internal and external customers and stakeholders to establish the priorities, and initiating and approving work proposals for the projects.Working with the Project Management and Project Engineering Management team to plan the work, ensuring resource availability and allocation, assigning tasks and progress reporting against deliverables.Recruit, train, coach, motivate, and evaluate engineering team members supporting the retube projects, ensuring strong technical capabilities and performance reviews.Interface with regulatory bodies (e.g., TSSA, ISCIR, CNCAN, CNSC) as needed, and assist in preparing proposals supporting CANDU 6 Retube Reactor Components Design Engineering scope.About youBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of technical experience in fuel channel design engineering and/or mechanical engineering, preferably within the CANDU environment.Strong understanding of CANDU reactor design, including fuel channels, fuel channel components, and fuel handling systems, with solid knowledge of CSA N285 and ASME Section III Div.1 pressure boundary requirements.Proven ability to lead and manage highly technical projects and teams, providing guidance, direction, and technical oversight to achieve project goals.Strong ability to resolve technical issues and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring credibility and trust through reliable delivery.Foster working relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders and maintain creditability and trust via successful delivery of commitments.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong presentation skills, and familiarity with quality assurance manuals, standards, and procedures.Reward & benefitsExplore the rewards and benefits that help you thrive - at every stage of your life and your career at AtkinsRéalis in Canada.Enjoy competitive compensation, employee recognition, and a brilliant range of flexible benefits you can tailor to your health, wellbeing, financial and lifestyle needs.Make the most of diverse opportunities for training and professional development to grow your skills and expertise.And take advantage of our hybrid working culture and generous time-off policies to balance a fulfilling career with your personal life.Be rewarded.
